Winter In Paraguay

So, I think now that I’m safely in a hostel in San Jose, I can openly admit that I got on the plane without having any hostel reservations or knowing how to get anywhere once we landed. On the flight, I sat next to a Costa Rican woman who helped me find a hostel in a safe neighborhood in San Jose (internet 30,000 feet above ground… marvelous!) and then offered to drop me of there on her way home.

I arrived at the hostel exhausted and starving (I hadn’t eaten anything since the piece of toast I had at 4am, and yes, I smiled through the whole tour of San Jose that the woman proudly gave me before dropping me off in front of the hostel).
